Grades 8–9 Summer Co-Ed Volleyball Camp * Note: Register athletes under the grade they just completed* Our Grades 8–9 Summer Camp is designed for athletes who are ready to take the next step in their development. Ideal for players with a basic foundation, this camp focuses on refining technique, improving consistency, and building confidence in a high-energy, supportive environment. Athletes will develop and strengthen all core volleyball skills, including: • Serving (overhand consistency, power, and placement) • Passing (platform control, movement, and accuracy) • Setting (precision, footwork, and decision making) • Attacking (approach, timing, arm swing, and shot selection) • Blocking (footwork, timing, and hand positioning) • Defence (reading the game, positioning, and digging) • Court awareness, communication, and game strategy Sessions are built around higher-tempo drills, skill progressions, and competitive, game-based scenarios, allowing athletes to apply their skills under pressure and develop stronger decision-making. This camp emphasizes accountability, teamwork, and growth, while still maintaining a fun and positive environment where athletes are encouraged to challenge themselves. Cancellation Policy
Cancellation Policies All policies below subject to change during unforeseen events (i.e. COVID-19) and will be dealt with on a case by case basis. We are here for the love of volleyball and will do whatever we can to make things work and have YOU happy! WEATHER POLICY – Sessions cancelled by Vancouver Island Volleyball Academy LTD. will be RESCHEDULED or ISSUED AS CREDIT FOR FUTURE USE back to the original item paid for (i.e. camp credits will apply to camps) MISSED CLASS POLICY – VIVA cannot be held responsible for any classes that an athlete misses for any reason. CLASS SKILL LEVEL POLICY – VIVA cannot guarantee the skill level of each cohort. Athletes will be asked to accommodate a switch to a different class in order to try and keep a consistent skill level in each cohort. More than 10 days cancellation notice - 10% fee will be charged. Between 9 days - 5 days cancellation notice - 50% fee will be charged. Less than 5 days cancellation notice - full amount is forfeited. Refund Exception If an athlete must cancel due to illness or injury, a doctor's note must be provided and the full fee amount will be refunded.
